May I mail in my court payment to Municipal Court?
You may mail in a money order or cashier's check for payment of your fines. Make the money order payable to CITY OF GEORGE WEST Clearly indicate your name, mailing address including city, state and zip and the case or citation number on the payment. Include your copy of the citation with the payment.
Download a plea form . A payment received through the mail without a plea or other indicator will be recorded as a plea of no contest. We must receive your payment by your appearance date noted on the citation to avoid the issuance of an arrest warrant. If you need an interpreter for a formal proceeding, you must notify the court at least one week in advance. The Municipal Court does employ Spanish speaking staff who are certified interpreters during the regular business hours and may be contacted by phone or in the office.

The Municipal Court can only talk to you about the cases filed against you in George West Municipal Court. To find out about other charges, you must contact the court of jurisdiction in each specific case. Many times contacting the Department of Public Safety for the names and phone numbers of the area Justice of the Peace may be helpful if a State Police officer issued you the citation.
Should I assume that Municipal Court knows that I received more than one violation on my ticket?
The court handles each offense that you have been charged with individually. If you were charged with more that one violation, the law requires you to respond to each one individually. If you do not dispose of each one individually, you will surely have a warrant out for your arrest on the one that was not clear. The court is not responsible for telling you how many charges you have outstanding.
